Next time you organize a team, make sure you've got a embroider and direct-to-garment maker as one of your steady players.
Captain Marlene Holben raves about Virginia Johnson who has designed a logo and produced a fleeces for her team, the Vintage Chicks.
The team name depicts the team's spirit, "A little bit old but young at heart," Holben said. The women's 4.0 60s team plays out of the Olde Atlanta Club in Suwanee, Georgia.
With just the direction to use teal, Johnson went ahead and embroidered the design on white fleece's sported by the team after they won the state's in Savannah. "I added the bling around the racquets," Johnson said about the gemstones that encircle the logo. She added that each fleece is has a slightly different beading design.
Johnson and her husband, Wayne, own A New Stitch and Print, a growing clothing business out of Atlanta. "Our catchline is 'We keep You In Stitches' because my husband is always keeping me laughing," Johnson said.
"I'm getting a lot of business," Johnson said about her involvement in USTA Southern Super Seniors.
Holben and teammate Barbara Bitsy couldn't help offer the information that they perform as the Dream Supreme Senior Dance Team. The ladies cheer for the Atlanta Dream, the city's women's professional basketball team.
